Stacey Kent’s life journey is liked an interesting roller coaster’ ride…
When she was a young woman, she had made up a decision: Leaving the hometown and dropped the European countries a visit. During the visiting tour, she decided to learn French, Italian and German as her Master degree in comparative literature.
Stacey Kent has shown her talent in Jazz music and transformed herself as one of the world’s uplifting jazz singers! Kent released her very first CD, Close Your Eyes in 1997.
After that, she continued to release another five CD compilations. In 2006, she was the winner of the “Best Album of the Year” at the 2006 BBC Jazz Awards!
In the same year, Kent decided to sign with Blue Note records. Her husband, Jim Tomlinson, who is the tenor saxophonist given the biggest support to Kent.
By the way, “Breakfast On The Morning Tram” was Stacey Kent most recently new album. The Booker Prize-winning novelist, Kazuo Ishiguro has co-written four of the songs for Kent’s latest album. Beside that, Kent’s husband had showed his talent composed a song, “The Ice Hotel”. This song has been awarded first price in the International Songwriting Competition in April 2008.
