Undoubtedly, Teena Marie has the very unique yet killing voice that I’ve ever heard in my life!
Honestly, she’s one of the few Caucasian female singer who can interpreted the R&B songs with such a remarkable way! That’s why, I admired this lady very much…
Mary Christine Brockert, which is also known as “Teena Marie” is an American Grammy Award-nomited singer-songwriter-producer. She’d notable as one of the few successful multi-ethnic performers of R&B. Due to this reason, many people suspected her as the mix of Caucasian and Afro-American. The truth is, she’s actually the descendant of Belgian, Portuguese, Irish, Italian and Native American ancestry (Phew, I never thought her origin is so complicated than her music did).
For your information, Teena Marie was released her first studio album, “Wild and Peaceful” in 1979. It’s followed with another thirteen studio albums, including the newest, “Congo Square” which is released on 11th June 2009!
By the way, Teena Marie mentioned that she’s celebrating her 30 phenomenal years as a recorded singer in 2009! This means, this year is also the Pearl anniversary for Teena Marie’s recording career.
